How Does a Patient Find a Regenerative Medicine Doctor Online for Knee Joint Pain?

find stem cell doctor

The Difficulty Of Too Many Cooks In The Regenerative Kitchen

A mere 5 years ago, the Regenerative and Stem Cell Therapy world was simpler. 10 years ago, it was easy. Only a few, mostly well qualified, highly educated, and extremely passionate medical doctors were interested in getting good information out there about Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells. People knew little. Most still do, yet today if you find a regenerative medicine doctor online you will swamped with so many people, companies, and health care providers all saying such a variety of things. An uneducated patient can easily get lost.

For those of us like Dennis M. Lox M.D., a decade of experience treating thousands of patients with orthopedic problems, joint pain, sports injury, and degenerative arthritis has led to his obtaining a tremendous amount of added knowledge about what is transpiring, including how complicated navigating the web in search of answers can be.

Dr. Lox has also spent decades lecturing on his area of musculoskeletal expertise to other physicians, and University Professors. In the last decade, he has lectured both Nationally and Internationally on orthopedic, Sports Medicine, Degenerative Arthritis, Regenerative Medicine, Tissue Engineering, and Stem Cell Science.

There are other very experienced Regenerative Medicine experts out there, who similarly understand, and have the ability to explain to their patients the science of Regenerative Medicine.

Often we’re your on the hunt to find regenerative medicine doctors online, they frequently provide misinformation that is propagated on the internet, and by companies to other health care providers.

Some are not medical doctors. There are now Chiropractors, Naturopaths, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants proclaiming to be experts on the internet, in seminars, in newspapers, and even direct mailing to patients.

More often than not, for unfortunately the wrong reason. Profit.

Being an expert, experienced, caring medical doctor, typically meant you were successful. However, the new model of quick marketing, with little experience is relatively new. It is starting to change how health care is delivered, especially in the field of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Science.

FDA Warning Letters and Lawsuits

The FDA has won one federal suit against US Stem Cell. A judge ruled that they can no longer practice Regenerative Medicine, or in the stem cell arena. US Stem Cell had some high profile cases including blinding a patient. They also were engaged in training chiropractors online. That sounds as crazy as it was.

No one would want their plastic surgeon trained online, nor there cardiologist. Regenerative Medicine should have standards of care for properly trained doctors. No untrained Physicians Assistant should be injecting someone’s eye, yet this happened. Even board certified ophthalmologists should not inject non-FDA approved stem cells into a patient’s eyes. There is no defense for such action. Yet still chiropractors offices employing paraprofessionals such as PA’s or Nurse Practitioners are side stepping quality medical care and injecting “birth tissue” products claiming they are stem cells when they are not.

A 361 medical device is easy to obtain for tissue graft purposes like wound care. This can easily be used off label with misleading information claiming it is a stem cell product, when it is not.

The FDA is clear on stem cells….same day, same person or it is DRUG. This means if it is not your cells used the same day it cannot be used. Please research this. It is that important.

States Take Action

Just like with the pain clinic epidemic, Florida and California were the worst offenders, the same has occurred with the proliferation of bad stem cell actor clinics.

Offering treatments for nearly anything from erectile dysfunction, diabetes, to baldness. After the FDA took action for cases involving blindness after inexperienced people were injected eyes, states are going after more aggressively blatant bad advertising making unsubstantiated claims, of ability to treat disease states without clinical trials, especially when the patients can be overtly harmed.

The District Attorney in Manhattan, has a case example in which they have filed charges against a stem cell clinic, that has made excessive claims about treating multiple disease states.

Google Takes a Giant Leap if You’re Looking to Find a Regenerative Medicine Doctor Online

As the amount of stem cell clinics grew, so did their advertisements on Google. You can’t do any type of research on stem cells without having to scroll through a bunch of clinics trying to woo you onto their sites via paid Google Ads.

Now, since stem cell clinics are being shut down for bad acting, Google has made a giant leap to control the paid advertising of stem cell, PRP, cellular and non-cellular, as well as gene therapy. Hopefully this will force patients to do more research when trying to find a regenerative medicine doctor online.

The rapid proliferation of new clinics with unknown backgrounds or training will no longer be able to pay per click to the top of Google searches.

This is undoubtedly a good thing. There are too many confusing ads, too many new clinics rotating almost daily, it is nearly impossible to keep track for those experienced, much less patients and people looking for good information.

What the Future Holds

The rise of the pharmaceutical industry to get FDA drug approved stem cell therapies, will increase as clinical research proves they are effective, especially when other available treatment options are less promising.

Large orthopedic device companies and emerging technologies, will merge biological materials, 3-D bio-printing with Regenerative Medicine and advanced surgical procedures. This will include robotics.

Hopefully, the future will bring patients that are better educated, well informed, and the bad actors misrepresenting themselves, and providing misinformation will be better controlled or eliminated.
