Stem Cell Therapy for Wrist Pain

A golfer with a five-year history of left wrist pain underwent wrist stem cell therapy with Dennis M. Lox, MD, at his Beverly Hills, California office. The golfer was not sure exactly of an acute injury, but his wrist pain gradually progressed in his dominant hand over time. This affected not only quality of life issues, but his all-important golf game. He elected to undergo wrist stem cell treatment with Dr. Lox a world renown stem cell expert. Dr. Lox has treated many different athletes from a wide spectrum of sports with wrist ailments including professional athletes.

This patient had an MRI of his wrist which revealed a tear of the wrist cartilage known as the triangular fibrocartilaginous complex or more commonly referred to as a tear of the TFCC.  The TFCC is in the center of the wrist and connects to bones in the wrist, and serves also to stabilize the wrist with certain movements. Dr. Lox has treated many athletes with TFCC tears with stem cell therapy to their wrists.

Can Stem Cells Treat a Tear?

Stem cells are sophisticated repair cells capable of reducing pain that causes inflammation and invoking a repair response to injured tissues. Our bodies lack a substantial quantity of stem cells in our joints to repair ourselves this we can break down after injury and ultimately develop arthritis. Stem cell treatments serve as a way to help our bodies heal themselves.
