Soccer Player with OLD ACL Repair

A soccer player with a 12 year old ACL injury and surgical ACL repair, began having more knee pain which was affecting his running and making it nearly impossible for him to play soccer.
Effects of An ACL Repair Surgery
Often patients with ACL repair think the surgery solves the problem indefinitely. While in fact, not every athlete is the same afterwards. The rupture of the ACL is such a violent injury other structures, such as the knee meniscus are frequently torn as well. Because it’s such as violent injury, ACL tears with or without surgery are typically going to develop early onset degenerative arthritis of the knee.
