Stem Cell Confusion
Unfortunately, many people are told information by individuals selling something. These are not experts, and often things get lost in translation or frankly never translated, or communicated correctly.
The FDA is aware of this, and is taking action against false representing information on stem cells.
A stem cell that is not from the patient is considered a drug, and is strictly limited in what has been approved in the United States as a stem cell drug therapy.
There is a cord blood stem cell drug available for leukemia. There is not a stem cell drug therapy approved for sports injury or arthritis. Tissue derived from newborns are collectively known in medicine as Perinatal.
