Knee Arthritis: Understanding the Problem

Most patients and people have an unclear understanding of exactly what knee arthritis is, and how it occurs and progresses. A basic understanding can profoundly affect your life, and how we age as a body in general. Sounds so simple? It is and it isn’t. https://www.drlox.com/medical-conditions-treated/knee-conditions/

What is Knee Arthritis Exactly?

Knee arthritis or more appropriately termed, knee degenerative osteoarthritis is more than just wear and tear over time. It can occur at almost any age from prior knee trauma, knee surgery or surgeries, and abnormal wear from leg length discrepancies, and advancing age. However, what processes which break the knee down on a molecular, cellular and tissue level are the same events which drive cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia. Science is far beyond what traditional Medicine can offer.

Knee Arthritis and Traditional Medicine

The multiple specialty model of Western Medicine compounds the issue, as specialists don’t speak the language of other specialists to communicate the problem of the patient as a whole. An example to illustrate this point, an overweight diabetic patient is more likely to develop knee arthritis and cardiac disease, as well as many other disorders. Taking a diabetic medication does nothing for the overall problem, unless it is explained to the patient. This typically will never occur due to time constraints, and a lack of understanding of the process at a molecular and cellular level.

Dr Dennis Lox
Dr. Dennis Lox

A Regenerative Therapy expert such as Dennis Lox, M.D is a great doctor to see when diagnosed with arthritis. Every patient is unique in many ways. No two patients are the same. He comes up with exercise and activity plans, helps the patients to modify their diets and whatever else is needed to get the best outcome when treating the knees with stem cell therapy.
