Swollen Lymph Nodes
Clearwater, Tampa, St Petersburg, Florida
Rarely a localized lymphadenopathy – swollen lymph nodes – may occur in the epitrochlear region causing a soft tissue mass. This can occur within one to two weeks after being scratched by a cat thus ensuing cat-scratch disease (CSD). The body develops swollen lymph nodes as a result of spreading bacteria after the individual has been scratched by the, which in turn causes non-specific elbow pain.
Fortunately, swollen lymph nodes causing persistent elbow pain is not a frequent occurrence. It can easily be diagnosed by laboratory studies and magnetic resonance imaging. Due to its diffuse type of pain it may have a confusing presentation, which, unfortunately, can delay treatment due to assigning a diagnosis for the elbow pain to other more common etiologies of pain.
If you continue to suffer with elbow pain caused by swollen lymph nodes and your current treatment plan leaves you feeling hopeless, perhaps a fresh set of experienced eyes can change your outlook.
