Canadian Teen with Hip AVN doing Excellent after Stem cells with Dr. Lox in Beverly Hills
AVN Treatment
A 14-year-old teen with post-traumatic unilateral hip avascular necrosis (AVN) consulted with Dennis M. Lox M.D. His hip injury occurred while he was snowboarding a jump at Whistler Mountain in British Columbia, Canada when he fell from a great height.
After failing to improve, an MRI was ordered on his right hip which revealed moderate avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head, the top portion of the thigh bone which forms the ball portion of the hip. The hip, like the shoulder, is basically a ball and socket type of joint. The teen athlete progressively developed hip pain, difficulty walking distances, and could not engage in sports activities.
Stem Cell Treatment
Due to his young age, he did not want hip joint replacement surgeries so he opted for hip stem cell therapy. After his first stem cell treatment to his right hip, he slowly progressed to working on strength without loading his hip joint with a therapist in Canada. He began mountain biking without pain and returned for a second stem cell treatment to his hip three months later.
Repeat Stem Cell Treatment
After the second stem cell procedure was done on his hip and immediately following the procedure he gave Dr. Lox the thumbs up. He walked out without buy adderall online cane or crutches. No pain pills are needed for the stem cell procedure. It is a simple injection, and in the hands of an experienced expert such as Dr. Lox, patients often state, “it’s no big deal”.
The teen and his mother were on a plane back to Canada three hours later. He is following up with his trainer after a 2-week break following his stem cell procedure. At this point, fine-tuning his walking and progressing strength and conditioning are short-term goals. His long-term goal is to work up to no limitations in mountain biking, and eventual return to snowboarding.
They plan to fly back in 3 months and go shopping in addition to perhaps another stem cell treatment with Dr. Lox in Beverly Hills. The exact treatment regime differs with each patient. It is important to consult with an expert to understand the best treatment recommendations for each patient’s unique needs.
